Childhood Vision

Back to my roots tromping through the fields in muddy rubber boots, dog in tow.  Seeing the world bathed in light; glowing & alive.  This is how I recall childhood.

Life is full of leftover pieces. Humanity discards what it no longer values.

Some days I just need a different perspective.  When I’m feeling low,  I remember how I love the way the trees that now oppresively tower over me, look from above.  That thought is enough to shift my perspective. ~ Karen Albert

Soul Food of Kindness

“Kindness and a good heart are the foundation for success in this life, progress on the spiritual path, and the fulfillment of our aspirations. Our need for them is not limited to any specific time, place, society, or culture.” ~ Dalia Lama

When our group of 6 bought sweet bananas to snack on from this woman she beamed with joy.  This simple act meant her family would be fed for a week.  Her smile lives in my heart, now a part of me.

Choosing light.
Touched by the sun beam piercing the thick canopy, the tender fronds glow vibrantly appearing brilliant on the dark forest floor.  We always have a choice in every environment we are in.  Succumb to the dark or negative around us often by blending in, or glow with vibrant alive energy.
At the end of the day you are the only one that needs to feel good about the choices you made today. ~ Karen Albert

 Seasons Collide

The beauty of summer frozen for a moment in time as the seasons collide.  Demonstrating that the only constant is change. ~ Karen Albert

Catch the Moment

Photography has taught me 2 important lessons.  1.  Pay attention to the details.  2.  Seize the moment.  My fascination with Lady Bugs, even though they’re tiny & insignificant, & that spot of color drew my eye discovering this one defrosting after the first heavy frost.

I knew I had to seize the moment.  The beautiful sunflowers lining my walkway now covered with glistening crystals would in a few hours be wilted and turning brown.  It was as I finished shooting, I discovered this gem glistening in droplets as the frost melted.  There would be no do overs.   If I had not acted, showed up at that moment? ~ Karen Albert

Put your attention on the quiet space. Love comes from the formless. ~ Karen Albert

Seeing the smallest dewdrop , you can stand in awe of perfection. - John Shaw

Which way?

Too often people waste time & energy agonizing over the right path to take.  There are no one way signs.  Try one out, you can always come back and explore another option later.  Life is the only one way path.  Just keep moving.
